Thank you for booking your Website-in-a-Day! The following information tells you what you need to do next.
Before you do anything else, please ensure that you have received and paid the deposit invoice. Your booking cannot be confirmed until this has been paid. The balance is due at the end of the day when your website is finished.
Having done that, you will need to compile the following before the day of your booking:
- Your logo This will, ideally, be in a vector format such as EPS or AI. If you’re unsure, ask your logo designer. If a vector version of your logo is not possible we can usually work with a bitmap version (JPEG, GIF or PNG). If you have your logo in a number of different file types, you can give us all of them and we’ll use whichever is best. If you do not have a logo, please ask us to refer you to a suitable logo designer.
- Your “Site Map” Create a one-page Word document that lists the pages and any “sub-pages” that you want in your website. For example: Home Services - Lawn Mowing - Hedging - Mulching Why Us? News Contact Us
- Your Website Content Create a Word document that contains all the text content for your website. For example, if you were writing content to match the site content above, you would have 8 pages: one for Home (your overview of your key offering); one for Services (overview to the services you provide); one for Lawn Mowing; one for Hedging; and so on. Should you wish to include any photos, graphics or videos with the text please include those files separately but reference them at the appropriate points in the Word document. If you need any contact forms (e.g. for the Contact Us page; or some other enquiry) please detail exactly what information you require visitors to fill out (e.g. Name, Phone Number, Email Address, Message). If you intend to have a “Blog”, “News” or “Articles” section, please have at least one entry (blog post, or news item, or article) ready.
- Photos, Graphics and VideosAny photos, graphics (graphs, charts, etc) and videos that need to be included in the website should be provided in a suitable digital format. Photos will normally be in JPEG format. Graphics will normally be in GIF or PNG format. Videos will normally be in AVI or QuickTime format. If you’re unsure, please ask and we will help you prepare. If you need photos, graphics or videos and do not have any, you may find suitable “stock” material at iStockPhoto. Simply search for keywords relating to what you need (e.g. “lawn mowing”, “businessmen shaking hands”, etc) and make note of the ID number.
- Your key sales message (optional but helpful)Summarise in one compelling sentence what you offer (e.g. “Have your lawn mowed today”)Then write 3-4 very short supporting benefits (e.g. “Guaranteed same day service if booked before 1pm”, “Eco-friendly lawn mowers” and “No fuss online booking or call us for free”)
When you have compiled the above files please have them ready, on the day, on a CD/DVD or “thumb drive”.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us via email or phone.
